Parent's Choice Diapers are sold exclusively at Walmart stores. They retail from around .12 to .18 cents per diaper. You can expect to pay around $20 for a huge box of them. So far, they have been the cheapest diaper that I could find. The outside of the them are similar to Pampers diapers. They are mostly white with a yellow wetness indicator going down them. Inside is just plain white like most diapers. Texture wise, these are the worst feeling diapers. Ever. The inside of them is rough and the outside is very stiff/plastic feeling. I don't think that these would be comfortable for a baby at all. Which sucks because they do a fairly good job at not leaking BUT they do tend to turn yellow in the very front and smell like pee after your baby pees in them. Now, I've heard that a lot of people have not had this problem but it happens every time and I have bought a couple of boxes.
For that reason, I give Parent's Choice diapers 2 stars out of 5. If they were softer and didn't smell,I would probably give them a higher rating.

Luvs diapers were the first diapers we purchased for Jaden. The main reason being, the cost of them compared to other name brand diapers. Luvs at Walmart cost about .16 cents to .27 cents per diaper depending on the size of the package you buy. Which is pretty dang cheap. However, in my opinion they are also one of the worse name brands that you can buy for a number of reasons.
First of all, the outside of them are not that soft and they are very crunchy sounding. Whenever Jaden moved, I could literally hear them crinkle. Second of all, they stink! They smell like chemicals and that is certainly not something I am comfortable using on a baby's sensitive skin. When he would pee inside of Luvs, the smell would only get worse. Finally, every so often when I would go to change Jaden's diaper, his skin would be bright red. Almost like he had a bad reaction to them. I can tell you right now, I have been through a lot of diapers and Luvs are the only diaper that has caused any skin problems.
Now some people love Luvs but for our baby, they didn't work. I give Luvs a rating of 1 star out of 5 stars.

This week I am going to be reviewing different disposable diapers everyday. Jaden is almost 5 months old and I have gone through a ton of different brands of diapers and I thought it would be helpful to do reviews on each of them to help other moms who might be trying to decide on what diaper to use and who just want different opinions from people. Look out for the first diaper review on here soon!Labels: baby, diapers, reviews ❝ Jaden is Born (My Labor and Delivery Story) ❞

On May 25th 2014 at around 8pm, Kyle and I decided to do one last small shopping trip to Walmart to get the rest of my hospital stuff since I was scheduled for induction on May 29th. Afterwards at about 9pm, we decided to stop at a burger place on the way home for milkshakes. While I am sitting there enjoying said shake, I start to get sharp shooting pain really low in my pelvic area. Not contractions but super weird feeling. I believe he had engaged in the pelvic bone looking back at it but at the time, I wasn't too worried because he was super active and I gave up on going into labor naturally.
By 9:30 we went home and I laid down to read Game of Thrones. The pain at that point had stopped (so I thought). Right before 11pm, I sat up to go to the bathroom and the pain was back in full force. I couldn't feel it laying down but when I sat up, holy hell. So I just sat on the bed for a second until it was more bearable (still weren't contractions just sharp pressure) Anyway, I get to the bathroom and pee. At this point, Jaden is just wiggly as anything. Then I feel a REALLY strong kick. I mean probably the strongest kick I had felt in a while if not ever. Once he kicked me, I leaked what I thought was just pee because it was like a trickle. I stand up and make my way back to the bedroom. The second I get into the bedroom, BAM. Water leaks out and I run to the bathroom again. BAM water is full on pouring out. Now, I had extra fluid so I was FREAKED out that it would cause a cord problem. So I reach my hand down there to make sure nothing was coming out but fluid. At that point, it's only been a second and I scream "WE HAVE TO GO! MY WATER JUST BROKE!!!!!!!!!!!!!" at the top of my lungs. I never saw Kyle move so fast. After that, I lost all brain function. You should have saw me scrabbling around to get dressed and everything LOL.
We get to the hospital around 11:15/11:20pm. All of the freaking doors are locked to the building I need to get into (Kyle just dropped me off while he parked) so I am freaking out/flailing around confused. Finally I found a door to go into but damn, I would have never found it if it wasn't for this other woman. I was just extremely nervous and having a mini panic attack. Anyway, I get to L&D on the second floor and they put me in a room to make sure that I was actually in labor (duh people) but it didn't take long because I was gushing all over the room. So blah blah blah. At about midnight on Monday, they put me in a delivery room.
Once I am in the delivery room with Kyle, my mom comes in and we sit around. They hook me up to an IV, the NST monitor and a blood pressure cuff. They check me and I am still at 3cm (I was at 3cm last time I was checked before this) for dilation. At this point I am having very very very minor contractions/pain. They pretty much let me labor on my own until 1:42am when they give me pitocin to try to make my contractions harder since I was contracting but they were only small ones. After that, it didn't take too long for contractions to pick up but I wasn't feeling every single contraction (my mom kept asking and I was like "No......." even though the machine said like 120 under the contraction tracker) but the contractions I did feel, were getting pretty painful. What bothered me the most was the fact that I could NOT pee. My bladder was killing me so at 2:20ish, I ask for an Epi because I needed something done about the bladder pain and a damn catheter. lol. The Epi wasn't bad but I was nervous.
At around 5:30am, they check me again and I am at a 6 for dilation. So my mom goes to pick up my dad (he was trying to sleep until things really got going)
Almost exactly an hour later, the nurse comes in and I ask her if I should be feeling pressure in my butt (like wanting to poop) She gets a weird look on her face and decides to check me. She puts her hand in to check me, looks shocked and says "...it's about baby pushing time.." I went from 6cm to almost 10cm in an hour. I was amazed because this was my first baby and I had only been in labor for around 7 hours. We had to wait 30 minutes for my doctor to actually get to the hospital though. That was awful because I wanted to push so so badly.
Finally at about 7:15ish, she is there and it's time to start pushing. So I push for a while and it takes me a bit to learn how to do it correctly. After about 30 minutes, they realize that his head is a little sideways in my pelvis. So he was getting stuck. Therefore, it took a lot of pushing little by little with help from the nurses and doctor to try to guide him and straighten him out. At about 9am, I am getting mad and upset. They mention a possible vacuum extraction and then maybe a c-section. For me, that was not happening. I was going to get him out of me safely and vaginally without help of a vacuum and a c-section was my nightmare. So finally, I close my eyes and I push. I push like a no body's business with my eyes closed. Before I know it, everyone is gasping and I hear Kyle/Parents crying. I open my eyes and my son is being put on my chest. I did it. I pushed out my son and he was alive/healthy.
Jaden was born at 9:21am on Monday Morning May 26th 2014. Weighing 8 pounds 5 ounces and over 21 inches long. I was 38 weeks and 3 days pregnant when he was born.
